Tomorrow is the Thanksgiving Day, then Black Friday and Cyber Monday are coming! After Thanksgiving this year seems to be the hugest in past 4 years to me. Don't you think so (everyone in CT)? Many stores make a huge sale not be it in an average year because of the bad time(?), and some are new to me.

I have been busy to take care of my twins. Mia started rolling over by herself. Both Maia and Mia now sit down unsupported, but it's easy to fall down with instability. It's hard to keep paying attention to them, but I'm happy that they are growing day by day.

Today September 26th is our 7th wedding anniversary. My fridns offered to sit our twins at night. I really appreciate their offer. I made a reservation for dinner. My husband and I had a very nice and quiet dinner time at "Il Palio" in Shelton.

We haven't had such a comfy, relaxed time since our twins were born. It was precious time for us. The food we ordered were great! I had "Calamari Fritto", "Pollo all Milanese" and "Homemade cheesecake with strawberry and mint sauce". The pasta Yoshi had was not "American" portion, but it was enough.

We should have known to the restaurant before we had children... I highly recommend Il Palio. I wanna say to the friends "Thank you for visiting us and taking care of Maia and Mia" for our wedding anniversary.

Milford Downtown Farmers' Market

今年から駅近くの便利な場所で、しかも土曜日開催になりました。
I love local food! I took a walk around Milford Green with my family and went through a Farmers Market. Though it was held by Walnut Beach last year, they open the market near Milford train station. It is very convenient!! I bought a pint of grape tomatoes and Italian bread. And also I met my ESL teacher. I can't take her class any more after I was pregnant, however, we have kept in touch. Anyway, it was good opportunity showing her my babies.
Since I stay home with my babies weekdays, I really enjoyed waking and inhaling fresh air. It wasn't very hot. (It's cool at early morning this week. ) I felt autumn is coming...

I recommend MEGU Japanese Cuisine in Midtown, New York City. I had the "Makunouchi Bento Box" and it had a variety of food and everything was tasty. I loved juicy Kobe beef steak and fresh sushi. Their services were also good. Even if you visit from Japan, you'll be able to enjoy the food.

ニューヨークのミッドタウンにある日本食レストラン、MEGUに行って来ました。おすすめ！私は「Makunouchi Bento Box」をいただいたのですが、ひとくちずついろいろなお料理が、お弁当箱に所狭しと入っていました。霜降りビーフや、お寿司、だしのきいた煮物やお味噌汁等、どれもおいしかったです。日本からの観光客だったとしても、十分楽しめる美味しい日本食といいサービスのお店でした。ミッドタウン店は、グランドセントラルからも歩けるし、便利でいいですよ！料金は、お弁当＋スパークリングウォーター＋税＋チップで、約５０ドルと高めですが、寿司ネタは日本から直送されているようだし、美味しかったので満足です。
P.S.お味噌汁が運ばれて来たとき、これはすすって飲むタイプのボウルです、と説明されたのが印象的でした。お味噌汁もスプーンで飲むことが多いのですが、こうして日本のスタイルをそのまま取り込むのは、いいことだなぁと思いました。

A new "Asian Grocery Store" is opening in Oronoque Shopping Plaza, Stratford. It's located across from Sikorsky (on Rt. 110). I'm happy to have the store near my house. They sell not only Chinese and Korean food but Japanese food and candy. They haven't had plenty of produce yet, but they will seem to be arrived in the store in a week. We can order a product if they don't have it. I'll often go there.

オロノークショッピングプラザ（Stratford）に新しくアジア食材店がオープンしました！場所は１１０号沿い、シコルスキーの向かい側です。家の近くでうれしい！！オーナーは中国人ですが、中国や韓国の食材だけでなく、日本の調味料やお菓子等もありました。野菜等はまだあまりなかったのですが、来週中には入荷するそうです。また欲しい物がなかったら、注文もできるそうです。小さいですが、これから通ってしまいそうな便利さです。
お店の人に「友達に紹介するね〜」と言ったら、10%OFFのクーポンをくれました。枚数に限りがありますが、興味がある方は差し上げますので、お店に行く前にでもお立ち寄り下さい。

Lox & Cream cheese

I've been to Essa-Bagel in NYC for many times, and I got bagels. I tried their sandwich today. It was my first time having "Lox & Cream Cheese" and it was AWESOME!! I choose an everything bagel for the sandwich. The bagel itself was great, and the lox (smoke salmon) from Nova Scotia was amazing! If you go to NYC, you should try it!

＜オススメ情報＞パスポート更新及び出生届提出のため、ニューヨークの日本国総領事館に行って来ました。その帰りに立ち寄ったのは、何度も利用しているマンハッタンのベーグル屋さん、Essa-Bagel（エッサベーグル）。今回初めて、サンドイッチを買いました。NY定番の「ロックス＆クリームチーズ」にしたところ、最高♪値段は高めで9.5ドルですが、納得。サンドイッチに使うベーグルは、Everythingを選びました。もちろん、ベーグルそのものも美味しいのですが、中のロックス（冷燻サーモン）が絶品。ノバスコーシャ産のそのサーモンは、臭みがなく、コクがあり、口でとろけます。ニューヨークに行く時は、必ず食べて欲しい１品です。★ロックスについてもっと知りたい方は、追記をご覧下さい。

New "Big Y" in Stratford

I went to a NEW "Big Y" store in Stratford, CT. I thought "Big Y" look like other supermarket around here (S&S S's etc.), but it was something different. The store is showing merchandise beautifully. Though I didn't think their products were low price, I liked Big Y. Since I heard their cake is good, I bought a small fruit tart and jumbo muffins. They are pretty good! If I wasn't pregnant, I would often go there.

Stratfordに新しくできたスーパーマーケット「Big Y」に行って来ました。きっとこの近辺にあるスーパー（S&SやS's ）と同じなんだろうなと思って行ったら、だいぶ違いました。商品陳列がきれい。決して安いとは思えないけど、見やすくて、高級感があっててよかったです。ここのケーキがおいしいと聞いたことがあったので、小さなフルーツタルトとジャンボマフィンを買ってみました。この辺りにしては、甘過ぎなくて美味しかったですよ。身重じゃなかったら、通ってしまいそうなスーパーでした。（今は、近い所が一番♪）

I had lunch at ELI'S ON WHITNEY in Hamden. The Manhattan Clam Chowder was awesome!! We enjoyed every dish. It was nice and cozy and we had a nice weekend lunch. Actually, we wanted to have their brick oven pizza... they were served another restaurant (market) in front of the restaurant. After having lunch we noticed. Anyway it was a good restaurant.

ASIAN BISTRO opened in Shelton a couple of month ago. It's a 5 minute drive from my house. Though most of the staffs seemed to be Chinese, they serve a variety of Japanese food. Of course, they serve Chinese and Thai food too. The restaurant was pretty big, and there were some Hibachi (tablees). We took a regular seat today.
I wished I could have tried Sushi or Sashimi at a new place, however I didn't because of the pregnancy. I ordered Pat Thai. It was OK. It tasted good but it was more chinese style to me (it didn't has Thai flavor). Yoshi and our friends had other food including Tempra, and they looked good! The presentation was also pretty. I won't have the Pat Thai again, but I want to try something else next time. They serve different kind of set lunch menu ($9.00).

数ヶ月前にオープンしたアジアンビストロに行って来ました。場所はシェルトンで、我が家から車で５分の距離です。お店の人は中国人のようでしたが、日本食メニューが思ったより多かったです。もちろん、中華もタイ料理も有り！でしたが。店内は思っていたより広く、落ちついていました。私たちは普通の席に座りましたが、HIBACHI（鉄板焼き）のテーブルもいくつかありました。
せっかく新しいお店だし、お寿司かお刺身を試してみたかったけど、妊娠中なのでやめました。無難な所で？パッタイ。味はまあまあでした。美味しかったけど、タイ風の味付けというよりは中華っぽかった。Yoshiや他の友達が食べていたのは、美味しいようでした。天ぷらもきれいに揚がってたし、盛りつけもきれいでした。なので、パッタイをここでまた食べようとは思わないけど、他の物を食べてみるのはよさそう。ランチセットは９ドルで、日曜を除く毎日やっているようです。
P.S.　今回友達の誕生日お祝いだったのですが、それを知ったお店の方から、アイスクリームサンデーのサービスがありました。キャンドルに火を点し、ハッピーバースデーの歌を歌ってお祝いしました。Thank you!

Libby is on Wooster St., close to Frank Pepe (a pizza restaurant). This shop was alxo crowded. I really enjoyed their "very hard" biscotti! They sell a variety of biscotti and cannoli. I want to try their ice cream next time.

フランク・ペペと同じ通り沿いの、イタリアンベイストリーショップ「リビィ」に立ち寄りました。このお店もかなり混んでいました。かなりの品揃えで何を買おうか迷い、一番シンプルなカノーリとビスコッティ３種を買ってみました。カノーリはまだ初心者なので何ともいえませんが（外の皮はカリカリ、中のクリームは甘い）ビスコッティはかなり好き！すごく硬くって、味も美味しかったです。ということで４つ星。他のケーキ類はまだわかりません。あとは、アイスやフローズンヨーグルトもあるみたいなので、いつか試してみたいな。平日は店内でお茶できるようです。

FRANK PEPE is one of the most popular pizzelia in New Haven, CT. I wanted to go there, and finally... I ate their pizza! We ordered a Original (tomato sauce) with mozzarella Cheese Pizza, and a White Clam Pizza. The both are the best! I'm in love with them... I wish I could make those pizza.

New Havenの人気ピザ店のひとつ、FRANK PEPEに行って来ました。ずっと行ってみたかったので、感激。1時間ほど並んだけど。
私たちは、オリジナル（トマトソース）にモッツアレラチーズ、ホワイトクラム（ソースなしの上にリトルネッククラム）の２枚を注文。どちらも美味しかったー。最高！とくにクラム（日本で言うと、はまぐりに近いかな）の方は新鮮でした。アサリのワイン蒸しがピザにのっている感じで、とにかく感動。行ってよかった〜。

ウエストハートフォードのThe Cheesecake Factoryにて、友達とランチ。新しく開発されているこの地域、彼女オススメということで行ってみたのですが、想像以上にいい雰囲気の場所でした。"Blue Back Square"というショッピングモール（ショッピング街）にあり、我が家のの周りと違って！？ハイソで洗練された感じ。すでに多くのお店やレストランがオープン、さらにまだ近いうちにオープンするお店もあるようです。（詳しくはホームページをご覧下さい）ぜひ機会があったら行ってみて下さい〜。食後にお散歩がてら、ウィンドーショッピングをして帰ってきました。新緑の季節にまた行ってみたい。無理無理。（涙）

Thai Awesome is a Thai & Vietnamese restaurant in Hamden. They also cater and deliver (minimum $15.00) the foods. It is near the Merritt Pkwy (Rt.15) , Exit 60. I loved the Tom Yum Goong! The Som Tum (Green Papaya Salad) was a little bit soft, but still good. The Pad Thai was pretty sweet for me. Though I don't think it's authentic, their foods have to be loved by Americans including small kids. The lunch menu was also tempting. I wish the restaurant could be closer.

ふたご行進曲のPSママさんが紹介されていた、ハムデンのタイ＆べトナム料理店「Thai Awesome」に行って来ました。このお店はケータリングや配達（１５ドル以上）もしているそうです。場所は、メリットパークウェイ（15号）のExit60を下りて少し南に行った通り沿いです。お店は目立たないので、並びのケンタッキー（KFC）を目印に。私のオススメは、トムヤンクン。レモングラスやライムをたっぷり使っていて、エビも２つ入って、酸味と辛味のバランスもよかったです！ソムトム（青パパイヤのサラダ）は少々しっとり気味でしたが、美味しかったです。パッタイは、私には少し甘かった。Yoshiが注文したシーフードのグリーンカレーは、いまいちだったようです。本格的、というよりは大人も子供も好きな、アメリカのタイ料理な気がします。値段もリーズナブルで、ランチメニューも魅力的！近くだったら、ランチに行きたいところです。（クレジットカードの利用は、１２ドルからのようです。ランチの際は現金を持って！）

BJ's in Stratford

New BJ's store is opening!It's very convenient for me because it's located in our town. They serve different kind of samples at the opening day. I tried eating some and I got one called "Goose's Tailgater". (I'm an easy victim for the store.) It's baby back ribs in a zesty barbeque souse. It was tender, juicy and tastet very good! I can't wait for eating. I'll go there definitely again.

さっそくBJ'sに行って来ました。私が住む町には今まで、ホールセールのお店がなかったので随分便利になります。開店を見込んで、既にBJ'sの会員になっていたし。開店当日ということで、生バンドの演奏やら、様々な試食で賑やかでした。私も幾つか試食→即購入、お店の目論見通りです。（苦笑）買ったのは、"Goose's Tailgater"という商品で、豚のベビーバックリブ・バーベキューソース味です。すでに調理して真空になっているのでグリルで軽く焼けば出来上がり♪お肉がやわらかくて、ジューシーで、ソースの味もよかったです。早く食べたいな。自宅からお店まで１５分、これから活躍すること間違いなし。

New store will open on Jan. 16th, 2008 in Stratford. It is located in front of Target (close to Route 8, exit 11). I've never been to Big Y around, I 'm excited to go there.

I went to NYC again because it was very warm and I wanna go out! The temperature in NY went up 64 degrees F. I went to the Frick Collection. I loved the museum!! I liked not only paintings and sculptures but all the house. Mr.Henry Clay Frick decorated the rooms for the paintings. Since the building was Mr. & Mrs. Fricks house, all paintings are arranged by his taste. They aren't classified every generation. It made me comfortable.
I more than recommend the Frick Collection!

I've tried a pie (I don't remember what it was) at the Little Pie Company before, and I thought it was too sweet. I read the "Sour Cream Apple Walnut Pie" is the best seller, and I got the small whole pie.
I tried various apple pies in the U.S. but this apple pie was quite different. Thin sliced Apple was piled up with sour cream on the crust and the pie was covered with the walnut streusel. I enjoyed 2 flavor sour (inside) & sweet (top)!

次の電車まで時間があったので、リトル・パイ・カンパニーに立ち寄りました。グランドセントラル駅のフードコートに支店があるので、便利。実は以前一度食べて、すごく甘かった記憶があり、それっきりだったのですが、実はここの一番人気は「サワークリーム・アップル・ウォールナッツパイ」だと知って、試すことにしました。小さいパイ（ホール）は７ドル、意外にずっしり。
切ってみてまたまたびっくり。アメリカに来て、色々なアップルパイを食べたけど、こんなのは初めて。タルト生地の上に超薄切りのリンゴが何層にも重ねられその間にはサワークリームがぬってあります。上はクルミ入りのシュトロイゼルで覆われています。中は酸っぱくて上は甘く、２つの味が楽しめて美味しかったです。

The bagels are big! and a little bit light to me. They tasted good. The Raisin Cinnamon wasn't too cinnamon flavor - it is perfect, but it might be less cinnamon for Americans. They can be good for sandwich too because of the hardness. I liked them! The carrot muffin was so so. I expected that it had more carrot and moisture. They sell other bread (denishes). If I have a chance, I'll try some.

マンハッタンに何店舗かある、Pick a Bagelに行って来ました。今回は、77StとLexington Ave.の交差点でちょうど地下鉄77St.駅（緑６）を上がったところで買いました。ゴマ、ケシの実、ガーリック、オニオン、７グレイン、プンパーニッケル、シナモンレーズンのベーグルと、キャロットマフィン。エッサーベーグルと同じ位？と思わせるかなり大きなサイズ、トッピングも裏表にたっぷり。食感は少し軽めかな。気になるほど軽いわけではなく、美味しかったです。むしろ、具沢山サンドイッチでも食べやすそう。キャロットマフィンはいまいち。中にあまりにんじんが入ってなくて、乾燥気味でした。他にもデニッシュ系のパンなどいろいろあったので、機会があったら試してみます。カウンター席５つくらいなので、ほとんど持ち帰りのお客さんのようです。

Since it was a nice and warm day, Yoshi and I went to The Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC. Visiting MET was our first time. Some friends said it's huge, so I was afraid of getting lost in the museum.:) At the entrance a staff did the orientation to us, she advised us how to use the map. It was very helpful to walk around.
I didn't want to be exhausted for my babies and me and I didn't go all the rooms. I enjoyed European paintings, Modern Art and Egyptian Art. That was enough. Some rooms were closed and I couldn't see Vermeer's paintings. It was sorry, but I really enjoyed bunch of paintings and the famous Christmas tree.
We had lunch at "The Cafeteria" on the ground floor. They served a variety of food and there were plenty of seats. It was pretty good!

Yoshi and I were invited to a Thai restaurant last month. It is located on York St., New Haven. Our friend works in New Haven and the restaurant is very popular among his coworkers. I ordered "Drunken Noodle". It was very spicy and I really liked it.

クリスマス前の12/22、タイレストランでランチ♪ニューヘイブンで働いている友達のご主人が、会社の同僚に人気だという"Bangkok Garden Restaurant"に連れて行ってくれました。私は人気メニューと思われる"Drunken Noodle"をいただきました。かなりスパイシーで、美味しかったです。他の料理は分かりませんが、行って見る価値ありだと思いますよー。

NYC 1/2/2008

I went to NYC again! It was chilly and nice weather. We sawRockefeller Center's Christmas Tree which is from Shelton, Connecticut. It was more gorgeous than last year's. BTW, today's purpose was visiting "The Museum of Modern Art's (MoMA)". I tried to go there beefore, but there was a very long line and it seemed to take 1 1/2 hours, then I didn't go. I got the tickets on line in advance this time, so I didn't need to wait for a long time.
We got audio guide for free (need ID), then went around. There were many famous paintings on the 4th and 5th floor. People can take pictures in the museum. We had a bowl of squash soup and a turkey sandwish for lunch at "The Carroll and Milton Petrie Café" on the 5th floor. It was great.
After visitig the museum, we went to the Japanese book store "Kinokuniya". The new store is located by Bryant Park and there was a Japanese cafe "Zaiya" too. Not only Japanese but everyone can enjoy going and seeing Japanese books and gifts.

I've been India Raj before, but I don't remember about it. My friend wanted to go there, and we had dinner there. I had spinich and green peas curry with naan and rice. The curry didn't contained Dairy products and it tasted very mild. I liked it! The restaurant seemed to be renew the interior. It was more cozy now.

コネチカットにいた頃、友達が時々食べに行ったというインド料理店に行きました。私も一度だけ行ったことがあったのですが、ほとんど料理の記憶がない。今回は胃が疲れ気味でもあり、乳製品を使わない「ほうれん草とグリーンピースのカレー」をナン＆ごはんでいただきました。とてもマイルド（辛さなし）で美味しかったです。飲み物はマンゴーラッシー。店内は前回行ったときとは違い、よりも明るくゆったりして、心地よくなった気がしました。電話注文〜持ち帰りのお客さんも多いようです。私はこの後ずっと満腹で、年越し蕎麦を逃しました。（笑）

Seven Seas Restaurant is a seafood restaurant, and I love the lobster roll. I ordered it many times, and I tried bacon cheese burger today. The beef was juicy, bacon was crispy, the burger was perfect! I love their french Fries too. I want to know how to make those crispy fries. My friend enjoyed the lobster roll and New England clam chowder, it made me happy.

お気に入りのSeven Seas Restaurantに、また行って来ました。ロブスターロールを何度も食べていたので、今日はベーコンチーズバーガーにしました。ハンバーグの焼き加減もよく、肉汁もしっかりキープ、ベーコンはカリカリで、バランスがよくて美味しかったです。いつもおいしいフライドポテトも、変わらず。どうしたらこんなにカリカリで美味しいポテトができるんだろう〜教えてほしい。友達も、ロブスターロールとニューイングランドクラムチャウダーに大満足だったようで、このお店に連れて行ってよかったです。

Yoshi and I took our friend visitting from Japan to Acapulcos Restaurant. She used to live in CT, and she missed Mexican food in Japan. I had Beef Steak Brrito. We haven't gone the restaurant for a while, I was surprised at the big portion. We were stuffed. We're going to some other restaurant in a few days by her request!

I found broccoli and chedder cheese focaccia. It looked interesting and I tried. Herbs were in the bread dough. It was very good.

ブロッコリーとチェダーチーズのフォカッチャを見つけたので、食べてみました。パンの生地にハーブが入っていて、ブロッコリーはあげたような感じ（オリーブオイルを塗っているのと、チーズの油脂かな）で、食べやすくて美味しかったです。見た目はお好み焼きのようですが。このお店はグランドセントラル、ペンステーションなどにたくさん店舗を出しているようです。他のパンを食べたことがないのですが、Challahが美味しそうです。
